BUNNELL, Fla. – A touching display of compassion and commitment to the community, employees from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office have come together to extend a helping hand. Their combined efforts culminated in a remarkable donation of $25,645 to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches (FSYR) in 2023, as announced in a recent press release.

The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, established in 1957, stands as a beacon of hope for in-need children, providing vital social services and nurturing environments. With a profound mission to “prevent delinquency and develop lawful, resilient, and productive citizens,” the nonprofit organization has touched the lives of countless children and families across the state.

During a heartfelt ceremony, Sheriff Rick Staly presented a generous check for the full amount donated to Maria Knapp, Vice President of FSYR, and Levy County Sheriff Bobby McCallom, Chair of the FSYR Board. It is worth noting that Sheriff Staly himself serves on the FSYR Board as the Immediate Past Chair, reflecting the deep commitment of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office to this noble cause.

The impact of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is evident in its widespread reach, boasting facilities in Live Oak, Bartow, Safety Harbor, Barberville, Inglis, and Bradenton. Through the years, the organization has touched the lives of over 173,000 children and families, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

Sheriff Staly expressed his pride and appreciation for the dedicated men and women of FCSO, recognizing their unwavering support for local children and youth. The donation to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is just one of the many ways the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office exemplifies its commitment to the community’s wellbeing. As part of the Flagler Sheriff’s Children’s Charities, the FCSO firmly believes in the FSYR’s mission of “mending lives, healing hearts,” embodying the true spirit of compassion and service.

This inspiring act of kindness serves as a testament to the power of unity and the ripple effect it can create in transforming lives. As the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office continues to champion the cause of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, the community stands witness to the profound impact of dedicated individuals working together for the greater good.
