A hookah lounge in Daytona Beach, Florida, has been fined $16,000 for engaging in illegal activities, following multiple complaints from local residents. The Smoke Hookah Lounge, situated on Grandview Avenue, faced scrutiny for several violations, including the unauthorized sale of alcohol, providing alcohol to underage individuals, operating beyond permitted hours without a license, and other breaches of local ordinances. This decision came after the lounge’s tenants and the non-Florida resident owner were summoned before a Magistrate for the second time in recent months. The tenants are responsible for a $15,000 portion of the fines, while the owner has been fined $1,000. In response to these violations, the owner has taken legal steps towards evicting the current tenants.
