A bit graphic, but that is a parallel to what is happening in the underwear market right now. Well, minus the parents scrambling for their children… or cries for help, at least I hope that isn’t happening in the underwear market. But with bamboo fabric acting as the tornado, it is ripping apart everything we thought we knew about underwear, and introducing a new standard of comfort.
Right off the bat, the main question should be why? Why is bamboo taking the underwear market by storm?
The answer is pretty simple…
It is a much better fabric for underwear compared to any other option, and it’s really not even close. A few of the benefits bamboo fabric can offer directly combat some of the main issues men have with their underwear. For example, most men will deal with butt sweat on a pretty regular basis, so much so that many will just endure the agony, and sadly, have for a while. It’s just part of their day, whether it’s at the gym, work, or lounging in their mother’s basement, they just can’t seem to escape that warm, wet, uneasy feeling lurking in their trousers. With bamboo fabric underwear, the moisture-wicking abilities in the fabric allow the unwanted liquids to be absorbed and disposed of at a much quicker and more efficient rate than any other fabric on the market. This is one of the many ways bamboo underwear is destroying anything in its path like an EF5 category tornado in the middle of Oklahoma.

To be quite frank, I know nothing about tornados, and to be brutally honest, I had to google how they categorize the strength of a tornado, so don’t take my word for it when it comes to weather. But do take my word when I say this: Not all bamboo underwear are created equal. Like all industries in a capitalist economy- there are usually many options, some are good, some are bad.
Choosing the right bamboo underwear for you is the most important part, as you need to guarantee you will be getting the full experience when it comes to this revolutionary fabric, which I will get into more in the next section. Unfortunately, choosing the right underwear, especially online, is a difficult task in itself, because you have no way to experience the product firsthand. Luckily, I have done the hard part for you. I have surfed the internet for the best bamboo underwear that money can buy, and the results are in.
Let it be known, I am not affiliated with any of these companies, I am just a person who has never been able to find that perfect underwear for me, until now that is. I have taken it upon myself to purchase, wear, and review each of the companies we will be going over today. Some I really liked, some not so much, but one thing is for sure; this is my honest and unbiased feedback on each of these boxers, and which I think is the best.

This brand, Nikos Athletica, is the company I went with as my #1 pick for men’s bamboo underwear. Although most of the underwear I tried was significantly more comfortable than your typical cotton pair, the Nikos bamboo underwear stood above the rest. This company currently only sells underwear, which may be why they are especially good. Not only was the fabric a great deal softer than the others, but the main reason I chose this underwear was I found this one to have literally almost zero smell, even after a long day. It was truly amazing and worth every penny based on that benefit alone. Another thing I found that was unique to Nikos, was that their boxers went through a mechanical process to break down the bamboo fibers, rather than a chemical one. After some research, this is pretty important for many reasons, which I will get into shortly.

- Antibacterial Properties – The antibacterial properties are one of my favorite features of bamboo underwear, and especially in the Nikos. I did my homework on this one. Listen to this– that stinky smell after a long day in your underwear, and under your balls, does not come from sweat. In fact, sweat by itself is odorless! It is when the sweat comes into contact with bacteria on your body… That is when the formula for a wet, smelly odor begins. Antibacterial properties in bamboo do a wonderful job of keeping everything down there clean, and bacteria-free.
- Moisture Wicking Abilities – This feature, along with the antibacterial feature, go hand in hand with keeping your precious jewels fresh, cool, and dry. While the antibacterial properties are keeping your nuts clean, the moisture-wicking abilities of the fabric absorb all of the odorless sweat, allowing you to stay dry. Even during a long endurance workout, the Nikos underwear would get damp after absorbing all of the moisture, but within 5 minutes, the sweat evaporates, and the underwear is dry and crisp.
- Hypo-Allergenic Fabric – This underwear is a perfect match, especially for those with sensitive skin down unda’. Remember earlier when I mentioned Nikos underwear undergoes a mechanical breakdown of the plant fibers rather than a chemical wash? This comes into play especially here. This keeps the bamboo fibers long, which is why the fabric comes out so soft and smooth.

This concludes my #1 pick for men’s bamboo underwear. Overall, this product is the winner in my book. You may ask, why go on with the list? Well, personal preference is what it really boils down to. I like Nikos as the overall favorite when it comes to actual fabric performance; but some companies offer a larger variety of colors and designs, while some offer a 50/50 blend of bamboo and cotton, etc. So, yeah, let’s keep moving forward.
#2. Briefly Bamboo Underwear
This company, Briefly, is the next option in my opinion on this list. Very solid bamboo underwear with a few unique properties of its own, one of which being instead of just a boxer brief style with Nikos, you have a larger variety of styles, like short trucks, or tighty-whities perhaps. Many of these brands, they all pretty much claim the same thing: Super soft, moisture-wicking, and antibacterial. Some just do it better than others, which is why they are ranked higher or lower on my list. To be fair, these were my favorite pair before trying out the current #1 underwear. So these were definitely not bad, just not my favorite.
Key Features and Benefits:
Affordable – One of the main reasons this brand is #2 on my list, is because I wanted to first give you the best overall underwear, but then I wanted to also give you the most affordable option, but still a good pair for those balling on a budget. This is an Indian brand, so do not expect fast shipping. (My package took 21 days to arrive) But when you look at the price, which comes out to around $8 for a boxer, it may be worth it for you cheapskates who are willing to wait. To me, this is complete insanity; I have the patience of a New York pigeon when it comes to ordering online, but I have met some who are more patient than me.
Multiple Styles/Colors – As I mentioned earlier, this company has three different styles you can choose from: Boxer briefs, short briefs, and tidy-way. I chose the standard boxer brief, so I cannot give a review on the other two styles, but I am sure they are fairly similar. If you like neutral colors, briefly have a plethora of options to choose from, like maroon, navy blue, gray, and white.

I chose this review to point out something in particular about this product. As you read already, the underwear does not have a front fly, or slit, for your monster to come out from under the bed when it’s time to take care of business. Just something to note when choosing the right boxer for you.
Final Thoughts
As previously stated, a solid underwear, with a few pros, including a variety of colors, as well as styles. But also a few notable cons, like long shipping times, or no front fly. One thing I believe I left out is that free shipping is only available when you spend a certain amount of money, otherwise, you are paying for shipping yourself. Long story short, this is the underwear for you if you are “Mr. Krabs” cheap. The fabric works, but not the best. Let’s move on.
#3 Chill Boys Bamboo Underwear
Making it at #3 on the list of best bamboo underwear for men, is a fitting name for a bamboo underwear company: Chill Boys. This company offers a mix of bamboo and spandex, for what they say adds a bit more stretch. To me, it had similar elasticity as most of the other brands I tried, but it is worth noting. I like the name of the company, as bamboo offers a cool, crisp feeling when you are wearing the fabric.
Key Features and Benefits:
The Chill Boys underwear promotes all of the same things I mentioned earlier in this article; from antibacterial properties, moisture-wicking abilities, eco-friendly, and super soft, so I won’t go into that much from here on out I will just tell you how well/not well each brand executes on their claims. In my opinion, Chill Boys comes in at #2, after Nikos, if we are only talking about how well the bamboo fabric performs. I did not mind these at all, and since I already have one, it is in the rotation along with the Nikos underwear… I don’t have many complaints. One thing I like about Chill Boys is they have a variety of vibrant colors, such as red, purple, and cool blue.

#4. Swole Panda Bamboo Underwear
At number #4 on this list, is Swole Panda. Swole Panda is unique in that they not only sell underwear, but another type of clothing as well, socks! I will be quick with this company as there is nothing that sparked my interest any more than any of the other brands I have mentioned already, except for the fact that they also sell socks, and also have some pretty cool designs on their underwear.
Overview:
I did not enjoy the bamboo fabric on this pair of underwear as much as the Chill Boys or Nikos, and they also have the similar issue as Briefly, with no front fly. These did not stay in my drawer long, but the socks did! I was interested when I saw they also sold socks, so I decided to try my luck out on the Swole Panda socks, and I like them! Sorry to turn this into a sock review, but they were much better than the underwear.

#5 Cariloha Bamboo Underwear
#5 on my list is Carihola. A decent underwear with a huge variety of bamboo products! I personally wasn’t a huge fan of their underwear, but I will get into that.
Overview:
The reason I am not the biggest fan of these bamboo underwear is mainly because of how they performed compared to the other pairs I purchased. I felt these held the moisture for a lot longer, and did not get rid of the smell as well either. I will say this though, they definitely come in number one if we are talking about designs. I mean it too, they have some seriously cool designs, from a sunset, to palm trees on your briefs. I personally bought the standard black. If they did more of what I wanted, I might have tried one of the cooler designs.

I singled out this review for one reason only. I feel it is very important to have a variety of sizes, and not have any 2 sizes be too similar for comfort, and I believe that is what is going on here.

A big fan of the designs, not a big fan of what the underwear did for my balls. Still better than cotton though. They also have bed sheets if that is something you’re interested in.
#6 Spun Bamboo Underwear
Rounding out last place on the list of the top 6 best bamboo underwear for men, is Spun Bamboo. This is a 65/35 ratio mix of bamboo and cotton. I personally was not a fan of this, as I really love the benefits of bamboo by itself. But don’t think just because this brand is last on the list, or mixed with cotton fool you. This underwear is still much better than your typical cotton pair of underwear.
