Before we rank our top bamboo underwear selections in the market, let’s take a minute to acknowledge that bamboo can become underwear, and some of the most comfortable ones too, in fact!
When you think of bamboo, most people tend to think of a fast-growing, green plant that pandas eat. And while they are not wrong, that is not why you’re here. You are here for an unbiased opinion on the top bamboo fabric underwear companies. But why bamboo? What made people so interested in this plant as a fabric for underwear?
What Problem Does Bamboo Fabric Solve Anyway?
Before you read any further, let’s make sure you’re in the right place. Bamboo fabric is especially helpful and definitely worth checking out if you experience any of these problems in your daily life with your current boxers.
[Swamp Ass], also referred to as “booty dew,” is pretty self-exclamatory. It is the warm, wet, swamp-like feeling in your boxers, usually after being out in the sun or doing a strenuous workout. It happens to the best of us, and when it does, there is very little to do about it.
Stick around (pun intended) if you want to find the solution to this crippling issue.
[Loss of Durability] when your boxers, over time, tend to stretch and, well.. just don’t fit the same. A sign of cheaper quality fabric, many popular brands think they can get away with this. Why do you ask? Because they know we will keep coming back to buy more of their product. It is time to take a stand for the little guy against the big industry.
History of Bamboo Fabric
Bamboo has been used by man for over 5000 years, with the majority of the plant being found in Asia. It has only been in the last 20 years that bamboo has made its debut in the clothing market. Due to its silky texture and unique properties (antimicrobial, moisture wicking, etc.) bamboo fabric quickly grew into a cheaper, more environmentally friendly option than many competing luxury fabrics.
Qualities of Bamboo Fabric
Bamboo fabric is silky soft, very lightweight, breathable, and moisture-wicking. In fact. Bamboo is 40% more absorbent than even the finest organic cotton. These qualities alone are enough to make bamboo a top fabric in the market, but there’s more. Being such a fast-growing plant, and with little water and other nutrients needed, bamboo is a much more environmentally friendly fabric than cotton, which you are probably wearing right now! Let’s fix that.
Now let’s get serious… We have tested many, many different bamboo boxer briefs, some will be on this list, and some won’t. Let’s face it, there are some cheaper options out there, and we are here to ensure you get the best deal possible, but NOT at the expense of your comfort! We’re dealing with the most important piece of clothing, the protector of your precious jewels down under!
Here are the top 18 best pairs of men’s bamboo underwear, based on quality and comfort, durability, sustainability, and price. All of these options are good choices, but we did find a few bamboo boxers that stood out more than the others.
#1. NIKOS BAMBOO BOXERS — Overall best pair (4.9/5) [220 reviews]
Let’s get right into this… Nikos Athletica is our top pick for bamboo boxers in 2022. We found these boxers especially fascinating, as their fabric is bamboo linen, as opposed to most bamboo fabrics on the market we’ve seen being bamboo viscose. What’s the difference? We were wondering the same thing.
The difference between linen and viscose is pretty simple: Linen refers to the mechanical breakdown of the plant, which is more eco-friendly, along with other benefits, Viscose refers to a Chemical wash to break down the plant, which is faster and cheaper. We noticed the Nikos Bamboo linen was not only standing out on its softness and silky texture, but its antibacterial properties seemed to outperform most 0f the competition as well.” The boxers never had an odor, even after taking these bad boys on a 3-mile run!” said one of our product testers here at Starkfeed.
Seeing firsthand one of our guys fall in love with this product so quickly was a game changer for us. Because as you go through countless options of boxers, some tend to feel the same. So it was nice and refreshing to put on a pair that genuinely felt different from the rest. Cool, dry, and smooth like silk with a well-fitting waistband were our first impressions.
The design is unique as well, simple and unique- one thing we could appreciate was the green bamboo leaves on the logo, which made it feel like we were actually wearing bamboo fabric.
Now we want to mention a small downside we found with Nikos Bamboo Boxers, which is that they only come in one color as of right now. The pros outweigh this one con for us on this one, but it would be cool to see some more color options in the future.
Overall, the uniqueness, comfortability, and durability of this boxer are why we have it at number one, but it also happens to be the most environmentally friendly option as well, a win-win in our book.
Time For a Change?
We understand change can be a lot sometimes, especially something so important to our everyday lives. We are here to ensure you will leave today with the best possible option for you and your precious jewels.
It might be time for a change if you are experiencing any of these issues in your everyday life:
- Wet boxers that stay wet after a long day at work or in the gym.
- The lingering smell from your boxers
- Your current boxers have expanded, and do not fit how they used to.
Nobody should have to endure these headache-prone issues in their day-to-day life. Bamboo briefs are changing the game fast, wouldn’t it be cool to have the ‘next big thing’ before it is even big?
That is why we have composed a list of our favorite bamboo boxer briefs. We did the hard work for you, all you need to do is heed our advice and feel the weight lifted off of your shoulders, (or your balls)!
Before going on to the number one pick for us, take a look at why most people are making the switch to the bamboo fabric below!
Why Should You Buy Bamboo?
Bamboo, in its fabric form, is the fastest-growing natural-organic resource implemented in the manufacture of clothing, making it the most sustainable natural fabric in the market. But this isn’t the sole reason why bamboo is taking over the boxer game, as there are so many other factors that make the perfect boxer, for you.
Luxury To The Touch — with the only comparisons being a cashmere or silk-like feeling, the bamboo fabric will give you a sense of royalty without breaking the bank, or the environment.
Bamboo fibers are smooth and round and contain a natural ingredient called pectin that helps enhance their soft texture.
Bamboo linen is where this is felt the most, as the mechanical breakdown of the plant rather than a cheaper chemical wash allows the fibers to retain their soft, smooth state.
Moisture Wicking — Bamboo fabric is extremely breathable. A cross-section of its fibers reveals various micro-holes allowing the bamboo cloth to have superior absorption. The bamboo fabric absorbs and evaporates moisture faster pulling it and driving it away from your skin. This property makes bamboo cloth special, hygienic and perfect for outdoor activities.
Antibacterial Properties — Most people tend to think the sticky smell after a workout comes from sweat, but that is simply incorrect. Your sweat is odorless, it is actually from the bacteria where the smell originates.
“Bamboo Kun” is a natural antimicrobial agent found in bamboo, which through proper treatment is present in the bamboo’s fabric form as well.
This same quality is what makes the bamboo plant resistant to pests that would otherwise harm the plant in its natural environment.
How would having odorless boxers change your life today?
#2. CHILL BOYS BAMBOO BOXERS (4.7/5) [170 reviews]

Next up, we have Chill Boys Boxers, we still enjoyed this brand, even though it is a bamboo viscose fabric. They are cool and comfortable, and they come in a various selection of colors, making them the best option for the guys who are tired of all-black everything and want some different styles!
Overall, these are a comfy, reliable pair of boxers. These are ranked high on our list mainly for being the softest out of the bamboo viscose fabrics.
#3. DAVID ARCHY BOXER BRIEF (4.6/5) [300 reviews]
As bamboo boxers are becoming more popular, more brands are offering more options. David Archy bamboo boxers, for example, are unique in that you can buy them with, or without a fly!
With a rating of 4.5, we believe these are a reliable pair of boxers with plenty of options to choose from, one thing we should mention is that we found that these may run a bit tight, so keep that in mind.
#4. SPUN BAMBOO BOXER UNDERWEAR (4.5/5) [200 reviews]
Spun Bamboo Boxers are unique in that they are 70% viscose bamboo, and 30% organic cotton. These are more loose fitting than the others, have a single-button fly, and don’t hug your thighs, if that type of cut is your style.
One issue we could point out with the hybrid fabric boxers, was the wet feeling after a workout tended to last longer than straight-up bamboo.
We like these as an around-the-house option, but we did prefer the full bamboo boxers rather than a cotton mix.
#5. BAMBOO COOL UNDERWEAR (4.4/5) [150 reviews]
These bamboo viscose boxer briefs are moisture-wicking, breathable, and stretchy. They have an open fly design and a 3-D pouch, for support.
These make the list because they are cheap, but a decent fabric, and also because they are available on Amazon, if that is more convenient for you.
#6. ZONBAILON BAMBOO BRIEFS (4.3/5) [170 reviews]
Available in either a four-pack or a six-pack, Zonbailon’s bamboo briefs are made from viscose fabric and come with a front pocket that will hold your jewels in comfort.
Our product testers here at Starkfeed did enjoy the front pocket “pouch” like the area to place your balls. That was a different and unique approach to the stick n’ sweat problem. However, they did note that after a while that the fabric in between the balls and the rest of the body did get a little hot and uncomfortable.
For a shorter day, we had no issue with these, but as the day goes on, maybe another option might be worth looking into.
It’s also worth noting that a lot of the 5-star reviews on Amazon were left by guys who are taller than 6’ and weigh 200 lbs or more.
So this might just be the best underwear for guys on the bigger side who prefer bamboo to synthetic underwear but have trouble finding the right size.
#7. Cariloha Men’s Bamboo Boxer Briefs (4.3/5) [150 reviews]
A decent option for bamboo briefs, as these are a comfortable pair, and they come in many different color options.
Being a pretty well-known brand in the bamboo fabric industry, we were excited for these to arrive so we could check them out. Unfortunately, they took almost 2 weeks to arrive at our office, and when we finally got a chance to try them, they didn’t hold a candle to some of the other “unknown” options. That just goes to show you that the most well-known brand is not always the best. Luckily we dealt with that, so you don’t have to!
One downside of these that we noticed is that they tended to hold more odor at the end of the day than other pairs we tried, but nothing major.
#8. Free Fly Men’s Bamboo Comfort Boxer Brief (4.2/5) [90 reviews]
A polyester/ bamboo viscose mix. A fairly good set of boxers, but again, we preferred the full bamboo brief.
One thing we noticed about these boxers was the length of the seam; it was much longer than all the others we tested. You may like it, or you may not, but we wanted to let you know.
#9. JINSHI BOXER BRIEFS (4.2/5) [130 reviews]
The bamboo viscose fabric was of good quality, and the colors are multiple and vibrant.
The downside is that the sizes differ between what region you are in, we were hoping, like all the other brands, to be universal. The boxers aren’t bad though, and they are on Amazon as well, which I guess is a plus for some.
#10. Youlehe Bamboo Trunks (4.1/5) [110 reviews]
These Chinese-manufactured briefs from Youlehe are unique in that they come in a big variety of colors and patterns to choose from, ensuring you stand out from the crowd!
These briefs also come with a pretty affordable price tag, as some of these options can be pretty pricey for the right quality.
Overall, if you’re on a budget but still want some decent bamboo briefs, these may just be the option for you.
#11. CALVIN KLEIN BAMBOO BOXERS (4.0/5) [300 reviews]
Calvin Klein is one of the most popular boxer brands, so it’s no surprise that they have released a bamboo collection.
Please note this was added for those who want the least amount of change in their life right now. If you are already a loyal customer of Calvin Klein, it may be worth trying these, as you are more familiar with the brand, waistband, size, etc.
However, we did want to mention this was some of the cheaper feeling bamboo fabric we encountered. As we stated earlier, please be cautious of bigger brands as they produce more fabric so their quality control is not as up to par as some smaller businesses,
Although we enjoyed some other brands’ fabric more than Calvin Klein, it may be a good option if you are already a die-hard fan of this brand.
#12. KNITLORD MENS BAMBOO UNDIES (4.0/5) [645 reviews]
Personally, we feel that the boxer-style briefs provide better comfort and style, but we wanted to throw these on here in case these are your forte.
As far as undies go, this is our choice. Not only do we love the fabric, but they are far more stylish than the traditional “tighty-whities”.
#13. Ham & Sam Bamboo Viscose Boxer Briefs (4.1/5) [645 reviews]
Continuing the trend with another viscose bamboo fabric, Ham&Sam’s bamboo boxer briefs come with a classic short leg that keeps the amount of excess fabric to a minimum.
So they’re a good pair of underwear for anyone who likes the style of boxer briefs but hates how the longer ones can ride up on you and bunch under your pants.
#14. Men’s Bamboo Underwear: Seamless & Sustainable (4.2/5) [282 reviews]
Boody uses bamboo mixed with synthetic materials, such as spandex and nylon. They are soft and pretty comfortable, but as we stated earlier, the blended fabrics were not our favorite.
One quality we liked about this particular brand was that the pouch was double-layered, giving our boys a little extra padding.
#15. Men SUMABA Underwear Bamboo Stretch Boxer Briefs (4.1/5) [395 reviews]

Let’s be real, there was nothing too special about these boxers. Overall they were pretty soft and came in a variety of colors- much like the other brands.
The odor after a long day wasn’t too pleasant compared to some of the other brands we tried, but still better than cotton.
#16. BAMBOO BLISS MEN’S BOXER BRIEFS (4.2/5) [180 reviews]
We’re including this brand for a few reasons. One is that their boxers weren’t that bad. The other reason is that they have other options than just boxers.
So if you’re a lady and are looking for more bamboo apparel, this may be the option for you.
We should note- this brand is located in Australia, and it took a while for them to get to us.
#17. T-Bô Men’s Bamboo Boxer Brief (4.3/5) [343 reviews]
TBO Boxers keeps it simple.. classic colors, no design, simple waistband. A great option for the minimalist. These are bamboo viscose, but one of the better fabrics we tried, so we put it on the list. One thing we liked about this brand is that the waistband matched the fabric color, which was pretty unique.
#18. Men’s Bamboo Viscose Boxer Briefs – Little Sleepies (4.5/5) [422 reviews]
Little Sleepies comes in a very basic style, either black or grey, with no logo on the waistband or fabric. Nonetheless, the fabric was comfortable and felt right.
One major downside of these boxers is there is no hole.
Conclusion
To wrap things up, we would say Nikos Bamboo Boxers had the biggest impression on us. We hope to see more bamboo linen briefs on the market in the future, but as of right now that’s our pick. With that being said, you could go with any one of these brands, and you most likely
wouldn’t be disappointed. I mean let’s face it, there’s only so much negative you can say about bamboo in general- which is why we love this fabric.
We are excited to see how the bamboo fabric changes the clothing game in the near future, and hopefully, you take into consideration the valuable information given on the best fabric for boxers in 2022. “The Top 18 Bamboo Boxers” has everything you could ask for: briefs, undies, loose-fitting boxers, and ball pouches, if they make it, we put it on here.
We would like to say that we went out and purchased all of these brands, (and much more that didn’t make the cut…) solely for the purpose of giving you the most unbiased and informational review regarding the top bamboo boxer briefs in the market.

Nikkos boxers seem to be a good choice. Read some good feedback from others.
